Veteran and Military Family Fishing Rodeo

The Virginia Sportsmen’s Foundation is partnering with the 001 Outdoors team to host a Veteran and Military Family Fishing Rodeo beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Stillfreds Pond located at the intersection of Route 6 (Irish Road) and Route 626 (Langhorne Road) in Scottsville, VA (Google map). The event will be a fun and relaxed day of bass and crappie fishing on a 20-plus acre pond followed by a casual cookout and fish fry at noon.

The Virginia Sportsmen’s Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-based organization established in 2010. It’s mission is to promote Virginia’s outdoor traditions, including hunting, fishing and natural resource conservation. The foundation provides outdoor education to first-time hunters, hosts an annual wild game chili cook-off and holds hunting and fishing outings with veterans and law enforcement officers.

While this event is complimentary for veterans and their families, the foundation accepts tax-deductible donations to support its work around the year.

Time: 8:00 a.m. fishing begins followed by a cookout at 12:00 p.m.
